Healing Concept: Aligning the five pillars of health

Neemrana experts enlighten guests about how we can live in a way that supports our own health and the health of other people, other animals and the different ecosystems on our fragile earth.
Neemrana has imbibed healing concepts which summarised the ancient Indian wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga into five principles or pillars of health that can guide us. These principles are:
 
  • Proper exercise
  • Proper breathing
  • Proper relaxation
  • Proper diet and
  • Positive thinking & meditation.


PROPER EXERCISE

 
Being active builds muscle flexibility and strength and lubricates the joints. This is true whether we are gardening, running, walking in nature or moving at work or in the home. Sometimes the first step to better health is to find ways to become more active. This might be as simple as standing up more often to stretch or taking a walk to the shops instead of driving.
The yoga postures or asanas and the specialised spa treatments are designed by the Neemrana wellness experts to promote the flow of energy around the body. Practised consciously these also build our muscles, bringing mental clarity and focus and to achieve mindfulness.


PROPER BREATHING

 
Proper breathing is essential for mental, physical and emotional well-being. Efficient breathing gives us more energy by supplying more oxygen to the body and expelling gaseous waste. It uses the whole of the lungs’ capacity and helps release tension in the neck and shoulders.
The breath is also a bridge between the body and mind. When we are stressed or anxious, our breathing becomes shallow. Just taking three slow breaths can help calm our body and expand our chest.
Pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) are specific exercises designed to rejuvenate both the body and the mind. The various outdoor spaces across the Neemrana properties are ideal for different breathing exercises during your stay.


PROPER RELAXATION

 
Proper relaxation brings our stress levels back down to zero and re-energises the body and mind. Yoga nidra and other progressive relaxation exercises release the tension in the muscles so the blood can circulate more freely. A relaxed body carries over into a relaxed mind and allows sleep to be deep and refreshing. Adequate sleep is necessary for us to manage our emotions and for memory consolidation –
a basic principle that Neemrana encourages you to follow. The Neemrana team shall be delighted in spending some time to explain the benefits of disconnecting from gadgets to help you relax during your stay and beyond.  


PROPER DIET

 
Wholesome food is fresh, organic, and preferably locally grown. Regular consumption of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and other plant foods has been negatively correlated with the risk of the development of chronic diseases.
An anti-inflammatory vegetarian diet with healing herbs and spices by avoiding Overeating, caffeine, refined sugar and alcohol is ideal. The Neemrana team tries its best to source locally and organically grown vegetables from nearby farms. The nearby Neemrana Eco-farm also supplies to the Neemrana Fort-Palace.


POSITIVE THINKING & MEDITATION

 
Often, we rush through our lives, too busy to notice what is around us.
Stopping and just being aware of what is going on at this very point in time can be deeply healing.
This mindful pause is about cultivating a kind, curious and compassionate attitude to what is happening around us. It can create ‘a moment of peace, freedom and happiness’. Mindfulness meditation has been shown to improve sleep and to have positive effects on concentration. It also helps individuals in responding to different situations, rather than reacting in haste.


TAKING THE FIRST STEP

 
You might like to sit down and think of one small, enjoyable change you could make that would support your health and that of the planet. You might like to do this until it becomes a habit and then move on to the next positive change, slowly and surely building a stronger foundation for health. A simple example can be learning the basics of yoga, breathing, or the food you consume.

Consultations with Lead Consultant – Holistic Wellness Doctor/Consultant - on pre-arrival or on arrival (telephonic/onsite), ongoing progress checks, debrief prior to departure, and post stay follow up consultation.

A. Pre-arrival wellness questionnaire to be filled and submitted online by the guest (mandatory for confirmation of wellness programme)
B. Pre-arrival lifestyle and diet guidelines (recommended to be followed for 7 days for optimal results)
C. Consultations
  • Pre-arrival consultations with Holistic Wellness Consultant/Doctor, ongoing progress checks, debrief prior to departure, and post stay follow up consultation.
D. Fitness Facilities: Steam, Usage of Gymnasium (wherever applicable) or wellness and nature walks, Usage of swimming Pool (wherever this facility is available).
  • Yoga – daily
E. Programme Inclusions
  • Inclusions shown for each programme are indicative only and may be modified by the lead consultant after an on-site assessment. The lead consultant may also recommend additional therapies and guidance by other modalities based on initial or ongoing assessments during the programme.
  • All personal yoga, fitness, and meditation sessions in case of double occupancy will be provided as combined sessions for both persons unless otherwise advised by the wellness consultant.
